Privacy Policy

Last updated: 3 October 2026

This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, when it is shared, and how you can exercise your choices and rights.

1. Who is responsible for your information?

This website is operated by AfriCam Online, an independent South African online retailer. Our business registration number is 2015/290244/07 and our VAT number is 4120281691. Our business and fulfilment address is 32 Brigantine Ave, Sun Valley, Cape Town, 7985, Western Cape, South Africa. We handle personal information in accordance with applicable South African privacy law, including the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

For privacy questions or requests, contact us at sales@africamonline.co.za or call +27 62 869 9583. Please put “Privacy request” in the subject line.

2. What information do we collect?

  • Orders: name, email address, telephone number, delivery address, items ordered, order total, and payment method and status. We need these details to take and deliver your order and support you afterwards.
  • Enquiries: the name, email address, subject, and message you provide through the contact form, plus information you choose to give us when you contact us by email, phone, or WhatsApp.
  • Newsletter sign-ups: the email address you submit to receive store updates and offers.
  • Website use and preferences: cart and cookie choices stored in your browser, and—if you allow analytics—usage and shopping events such as pages or products viewed and checkout activity. Our website and infrastructure providers may also process technical information needed to deliver, maintain, and protect the service.

3. Why do we use personal information?

  • To respond to questions, requests for quotes, and customer-support enquiries.
  • To confirm, process, deliver, and provide after-sales support for orders, including returns and refunds.
  • To process payments, prevent or investigate suspected fraud, and meet applicable legal and accounting obligations.
  • To send the store news and offers you asked to receive. You can ask us to stop sending these at any time.
  • To understand and improve how the website is used, where you have allowed analytics.

4. When do we share information?

We do not sell personal information. We share only what is needed to operate the store and fulfil your request, for example with payment processors, delivery and freight providers, and the hosting or database providers used to run the website and store business records.

If you pay by card, Stripe processes the payment on its hosted checkout page. We receive payment confirmation and a transaction reference; we do not receive or store your full card number. If you choose to contact us through WhatsApp, or open the map on our Contact page, those third-party services process your visit under their own privacy terms. Google Analytics is used for website analytics only when you allow analytics storage; see our Cookie Policy for details.

We may also disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect customers, our business, or our legal rights.

5. Cookies, local storage, and analytics

The cart and your cookie choice use browser storage so the shop can remember your preferences. Analytics storage is off unless you choose to allow it; before that choice, Google may receive limited cookieless signals as described in our Cookie Policy. You can change your analytics choice at any time from that page.

6. How long do we keep information, and how is it protected?

We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose for which it was collected, to resolve queries or disputes, and to meet legal record-keeping requirements. Order and tax records may need to be kept for the period required by law. Newsletter information is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove it, subject to any records we must retain for other purposes.

We use appropriate safeguards intended to protect information against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. Some of our service providers may process information outside South Africa; where this happens, we take steps required by applicable law to protect the transfer. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

7. Your choices and privacy rights

You can ask us to confirm whether we hold your personal information, provide access to it, correct or update it, or delete it where the law allows. You can also object to or ask us to restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To unsubscribe from store updates, contact us at sales@africamonline.co.za.

To make a request, email us with enough information for us to understand what you need. We may ask you to verify your identity before acting on a request. You may also raise a concern with the South African Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za.

8. Changes and contact

We may update this policy when our services or legal requirements change. The current version is published on this page. If you have a privacy question, contact us at sales@africamonline.co.za, by phone at +27 62 869 9583, or through our Contact page.
