Warranty Policy

Last updated: 3 October 2026

How manufacturer warranties work on products sold by AfriCam Online, and how to get help if something goes wrong after the return window has closed.

1. How warranty works

Unless a listing states otherwise, products sold on AfriCam Online are brand new and carry the manufacturer's warranty that applies to that specific product. There is no single warranty period across the store — coverage and duration are set by each manufacturer and vary by product and category.

We are an independent retailer, not a manufacturer. AfriCam Online does not provide its own warranty in addition to the manufacturer's warranty; instead we help you navigate the manufacturer's warranty process when you need it.

2. Before you buy

Check the warranty information shown in the specifications of each product listing. If a warranty period or scope is not listed, ask us before you order and we will confirm the terms that apply to that model.

Keep your proof of purchase (order confirmation email or tax invoice) and the product documentation that comes in the box — both are normally required to make a warranty claim.

3. What a manufacturer warranty typically covers

Manufacturer warranties generally cover defects in materials or workmanship that appear under normal use within the warranty period. The exact scope, duration and conditions are set by the manufacturer of the specific product you purchased.

4. What is not covered

Warranty claims do not normally cover:

  • Damage caused by misuse, accidents, neglect or unauthorised repairs.
  • Normal wear and tear, including cosmetic scratches and consumable parts such as batteries over time.
  • Failure to follow the manufacturer's setup, charging, use or maintenance instructions.
  • Use of incompatible accessories, chargers or power sources.
  • Commercial or rental use of products intended for personal use.

Always follow the instructions supplied with your product. Incorrect assembly, installation or charging can void the warranty and create safety risks.

5. How to make a warranty claim

If a product develops a fault after the 30-day return window has closed, email sales@africamonline.co.za with:

  • Your order number and the product name.
  • A description of the fault and when it started.
  • Photos or a short video showing the issue where possible.

We will confirm the manufacturer's warranty terms for your product and guide you through the next steps, which may include sending the item for assessment, contacting the manufacturer directly, or arranging a repair under the manufacturer's terms.

6. Returns versus warranty claims

A return is for an item sent back within 30 days of delivery under our store policy. A warranty claim is for a product that develops a fault later in its life and is handled under the manufacturer's terms.

If an item arrives damaged or defective, contact us within 7 days of delivery with photos — this is handled under our Return Policy, not as a warranty claim.

7. Your statutory rights

This warranty policy is in addition to your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008. The Act provides an implied warranty of quality on goods supplied to consumers: if goods prove unsafe, defective or of inferior quality within six months of delivery, you may generally return them to the supplier without penalty and at the supplier's risk, and choose to have them repaired, replaced or refunded.
